Market Bulletin Board
Welcome to the Stone County Farmers Market Bulletin Board! We’ll be using it just like any ol’ bulletin board. So, there’s no telling what might appear.
Individual vendors may make personal announcements…or share gardening tips…or share ideas for cooking fresh veggies, etc. We’ve also had a customer suggest that it would be fun to see how other customers are preparing fresh veggies. We welcome all that and more!
If you have something you want to contribute, use the “Contact Us” choice in the menu to your left.
July, 9 , 2010 – Vendor Trish Stewart shared a tasty way to prepare her Ping Tung Eggplant. Split eggplant lengthwise, skin on. Coat in 4 tablespoons italian dressing. Let set for 20 minutes. Place eggplant cut side down on grill. Cook until tender. Place eggplant in small pan, cut side up. Top with mix of 2-3 finely chopped basil leaves, 1 medium diced tomato and 1 teaspoon italian seasoning. Top with grated mozzarella/parmesan cheese. Place pan on grill, lid closed, until cheese melts. Sounds yummy!
July 28, 2010 – Vendor Sue Parracino’s Labrador, Sugar, welcomed a new litter of pups into the world this week. Sue’s busy tending them and could not make it to Market this a.m. but will be back with us on Saturday with all her hot, fresh-baked goodies. So, come let Sue serve you some breakfast and coffee (and perhaps take home a quiche or two for your family) while you shop on Saturday!
